Australian Museums and Galleries Association to deliver $3 million support package to regional culture, heritage and arts organisations.
This is the most incredible news and we’re so excited to be able to share it with you finally.
AMaGA, in partnership with Federation of Australian Historical Societies, will deliver the Culture, Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism (CHART) grants program Australia wide. The program will make grants of up to $3k available to community arts, heritage and cultural organisations in regional Australia to continue to conserve and share Australia’s cultural heritage.
In a joint statement today, AMaGA President, Robin Hirst and National Director, Katie Russell said, “We’re delighted to see the government respond so fulsomely to AMaGA’s advocacy on behalf of our members to recognise the importance of culture in community. The package Minister Fletcher has announced today provides a very welcome boost to community arts, heritage and cultural organisations in regional Australia. This support will energise community cohesion and wellbeing after such a long period of isolation and uncertainty.”
The CHART grants will open in the 2021 – 2022 financial year. Details will be available on the AMaGA website once program guidelines are finalised.
